"Since receiving
the Spence T. Brennan Scholarship my life has been completely
changed. This summer my mother passed away after a five
year battle with ....cancer, I started boot camp for Massachusetts
Maritime Academy... But school is great. I have made some
amazing friends, am doing well in my school work and am
determined to get a good conduct ribbon by the end of the
semester.... A couple of my shipmates and I started a new
club... Massachusetts Maritime EcoCorp... "the purpose
of the MMA EcoCorps is to serve the Academy as environmental
leaders. The MMA EcoCorps will strive to raise awareness
of environmental issues within the Academy community and
beyond, and to improve and protect the environmental mission
of the Academy, as well as the reputation as a leader in
environmental education and programs.....The future goals...providing
...educational, service orientated and recreational outlets....to
achieve a greater understanding on environmental issues
and how to make MMA and the world a better place."
....will be sending you an invitation to MMA's first ever
Earth Day which will be planned by EcoCorp and scheduled
for April 22nd.
